I like Bretons so far for their insane defense against magic. They can passively hit the Resist Magic cap just from their racial(+25%), Lord Stone (+25%), Temple of Mara perk (+15%) and 2/3 Magic Resistance in Alteration(+20%), leaving the rest of your gear free for more offense or stacking even more resists vs. elements. Or better yet, going with the Atronach stone for a passive 50%, temporary 100% spell absorption, along with 3/3 Magic Resistance, and only needing +15% Resist Magic from gear to cap. Then throw in a couple pieces on hand to cap Resist Fire/Frost/Lightning when needed, and you'll survive a lot better on Master difficulty against Hard/Hardcore Deadly Dragons.
