There are a lot of good sides of using e-books. You just need few clicks to download book from the internet, without walking to the library. Also, you can carry a thousand of books in just few hundred grams of plastic. Imagine that you have to carry 5 or even 10 large books? Maybe the best positive thing about e-books is saving the environmet and trees. You have to cut down the forest to print a book, but nothing to have the same book on that potrable thing.
Although it does have some advantages, for example, it is free and available to everyone, still it has encountered consumer resistance. It is mainly because people find flickering screens tiring, and they make eyes ache. Also, to use e-books, a lot of electronic power is needed and spent. The biggest problem is copyright. You can find illegal sites from which you can free download someones hard work. At the end, some people just want to smell the new book, and to hold the paper in their hands.
Whether we support this way of finding out information or not, the thing that has to be mentioned is the fact that using so called 'low tech' books is much more practical, as it needs no power supply, books are portable and easier to carry with. Also, the thing that is a great proof of the significance of books, even in this modern society, is the fact that most of the films as well as television series have derived from novels, and vice versa, almost every screen product has it's tie - in book.
